Kajimoto Artists December 2012

December is a busy month for Christian Arming, who conducts the RAI National Symphony Orchestra on the 6th and 7th December in a programme featuring works by Schubert, Mendelssohn and Schumann before heading to Katowice to perform Mahler’s Symphony No. 9 with the Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra on the 14th December.

He then travels to Spain to conduct the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd December in a programme featuring Humperdinck, Tchaikovsky, Johann Strauss and Prokofiev.

December also sees the release of Christian’s first recording with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liege on Fuga Libera: on the programme César Franck’s Symphony in D minor and the seldom performed Ce qu’on entend sur la montagne and Hulda.


 

After his concert with the Kansai Philharmonic Orchestra and Augustin Dumay, Louis Lortie was in recital at Musashino Hall on 3 December performing Chopin’s op. 10, op. 25 and posthumous Etudes before he joins Charles Dutoit and the NHK Symphony Orchestra to perform
Liszt’s Concerto No. 2 on the 7 and 8 December.


 

A week later, on 16 and 17 December Momo Kodama joins the NHK Symphony Orchestra and Charles Dutoit to play Saint-Saens’ Piano Concerto No. 2 in Tokyo.





 

Less than two years after his triumphant recital in Lyon, Jorge Luis Prats returns to the city on the 14 December in a recital featuring Ravel, Guerrero, Villa Lobos as well as Preludes by Chopin in the Auditorium de Lyon’s Grands Interprètes series.
 




Michiyoshi Inoue is at the head of the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra on the 6th and 7th December, performing Martinu’s Cello concerto no. 2 and Shostakovich’s Leningrad Symphony.


 


 

On 15 December, Jean-Frédéric Neuburger will play Liszt's transcriptions of Beethoven’s 4th and 5th Symphonies in the Fortissimo series at the Salle Molière in Lyon.

He then leaves for Venice to perform Chopin and Alkan at the Palazetto Bru Zane on the 20 December.

 

Kirill Troussov started the month at Schloss Elmau playing the Eight Seasons of Vivaldi and Piazzola with the Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra, before they take the programme on tour to China in March 2013.

He then travels to Lübeck to play Lalo’s Symphonie Espagnole with the Lübeck Philharmonic Orchestra.
 

 

On 1 January 2013, Crans Montana (Switzerland) will host an exceptional New Year's Concert with the prestigious Orchestra of La Scala de Milan conducted by Yoel Levi with the soloist Shlomo Mintz.


 

 

After a concert on 5 December with the Academy of Taiwan Strings performing/conducting works by Dvorak, Chausson, Ravel, Suk and Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with Louis Lortie, Augustin Dumay returns to his Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia to perform a programme of Beethoven and Mozart on the 22 December.
