The Teresa Carreño Youth Orchestra of Venezuela (TCYOV) is one of the most important products of the orchestral academic programme of the Fundación Musical “Simón Bolívar” (Fundamusical Bolívar) - or as it is commonly known, el Sistema.

Transcending its cultural role, Fundamusical Bolívar employs over 15,000 individuals whom talents and skills includes training in instrument-making, arts administration and news media.

The Orchestra is composed of over 200 young musicians, who are members of the Simón Bolívar music Conservatory, the Experimental University of the Arts (UNEARTE) and the different academies of the Sistema, all of them having received the most skilled and advanced artistic and technical training in their different instruments. In addition to its regular concert activity, the Orchestra is highly active in the field of music education.
